I got all the stuff for my race car from Pirtek, over the counter.
Speedflow brand. Top quality stuff too. Cost $182 for the whole car (4 hoses). Hose was about $35 per metre. Fittings around the $10 each mark, depending on what they were. (This was 18 months ago.) I just put it all together myself. Really easy. *edit* BTW, the race car ISN'T a Falcon, but I would think the prices would have to be fairly similar. |

thats an impressive price Group C. Did you need to provide the dimensions for the hose or did they have that on file?
Are the Pirtek hoses/fittings ADR compliant?

I didn't complain thou!! I just went in with the rubber hoses that I wanted to replace with the braided, and they gave me the hose and all the fittings. Simple as that. I thought that braided brake hose (the nylon-type inner, stainless braided outer stuff like i use) only came in 1 size, but I could be wrong. I've never had to look into a different size, just used the same on a couple of race cars I've been involved with. As for ADR compliance.... Wouldn't have a clue. Sorry. My car is a full-on race car. No street work for this 1. I think the 'Speedflow' brand that I use (and got from Pirtek) is Australian made, so I ASSUME it would have to meet some form of Aust. compliance. The guys at Pirtek are really good. Probably a question to ask them?? |

And good to see the ute's firing on all 8 again!! Ohh, I was going to write before.. When you think about the $182 price and break it down, it seems pretty fair. In that, there's 2 fittings per hose, so that's $80 odd worth. There's 1 'banjo' bolt per rear caliper (on my car) @ $5 ea, so the total is now $90 odd. And there was about 2.5m of hose @ $35 per metre (the hose is the most expensive part of this job). Ohh, + the 'G'rab & 'S'teal 'T'ax. So I'd guess the price was about right in my case, in that I really think about it. It's only taken 18 months to think thou!! Last edited by Group C; 26-01-2006 at 11:38 PM. |
