On the United Petroleum home page on the E85 tab there is a link
"Find my nearest Unleaded E85:" You just input your post code and it gives you the nearest E85 fuel locations anywhere in Australia. Very handy for some. http://www.unitedpetroleum.com.au/united |

There is also a plan a trip section for the different fuels.
From what I can see if your running E85 and you leave any major city, your pretty much just plain out of luck, you will run out of fuel! |

No Benz in our family, only an ECU modified ( tuned ) BMW 320D which will easily give the stock new XR8 a run for it's money.
Hence the need for a few mods to the XR8, including an E85 tune. Last edited by 40gt; 10-01-2015 at 02:15 PM. Reason: better wording |

From The MB Aus site http://www.mercedes-benz.com.au/cont...hip/fuels.html Use of unleaded petrol containing ethanol in Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and 4WD’s The Federal government believes that the inclusion of ethanol in petrol, up to a maximum of 10%, will be a positive step toward the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the sustainability of present fossil fuels. As ethanol is already being supplied through some petrol outlets it is important that Mercedes-Benz owners are aware of our official company position in this matter. Daimler AG. recommends that your vehicle be operated on fuel containing no more than 10% ethanol. Use of fuel with an ethanol content higher than 10% may result in engine malfunction, starting and operating difficulties and materials degradation. These adverse effects could result in permanent damage to your vehicle. Purchasing your fuel from a reputable supplier may reduce the risk of exceeding this 10% limit or of receiving fuel with abnormal properties. It should also be noted that when using ethanol blended fuels an increase in fuel consumption can be expected due to the lower energy content of ethanol. We can assure owners that all Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and 4WD’s manufactured after January 1st 1986 to Australian specification are able to be operated on unleaded petrol containing ethanol, providing the maximum limit of 10% is not exceeded.

Works well on high comp or boosted cars, closest E85 servo to me (Caltex) is Tullamarine, 50km away.

What sort of price is E85 per litre at the moment.
E10 is only a few cents cheaper than regular 91 so its not really worth saving a few cents for when you use more of it. |

I run e85 sometimes in my ve wagon and have no problem, get a few less ks but it is cheaper, comparing both I get similar numbers out of them. E85 is not a bad fuel, just need the car setup correctly for it. |
