They also set the expectation with each manufacturer, told them exactly what was going to be done. So there were no real surprises.

Great exposure for said manufacturers, really. May be hard to sell now, though: unless someone gets a good deal and appreciates the sentiment of a TV car.

As long as you don't take the show seriously, it's great to watch and better than all the reality shows that are on every second day...

Each manufacturer basically got 45 minutes of massive publicity. It's the most watched show worldwide with hundreds of millions of viewers.

Of course a rival publication is going to write an article like this.
The manufacturers didn't have an issue with it so there isn't a problem. Interesting to note they mention "Over one Million Dollars worth" of vehicles then they quote the value of the vehicles later in the article as $400k, $300k and $170k. Hmmmm.

On roads includes lct. That'll bump it up over a million. What is it 30c for every dollar over 75k?
