I know it's auto related, but it's a tv show.
Does anyone else watch this show with a passion? In adelaide it's on sbs at 7:30-8:30 every monday night. They not only road test average cars, but everything else under the sun. Some of the stories are phenomenal. Like the races between two guys. One flying form london to switzerland then getting to a hotel... the other one racing him in a ferrari......the ferrari won.. just. They lost their fast cars and every fast one they race around their track and record lap times.... the renault F1 car is currently fastest at 59 seconds. Jamie Olivers Combi van has done a lap... although I don't know the lap time as they were more interested in how well jamie could prepare a salad in the back... needless to say, he ended up covered in it. The also hate hyundai's and the sort so it's good for people who like performance. I have some video's at home so when I work out how to link them I'll do it.

Heh, its all been mentioned here before. I've pretty much got every episode bar the first season.
They don't mind Hyundai's, at least not the Getz and the Tuberion. But apparently you can buy a VW Polo for the same money as a Getz over in the UK, so its kinda pointless.

When they did the Renault F1 hot lap, they made a point that todays supercars are as fast as F1 cars 20 years ago. So therefore in 20 years we'll be driving cars as quick as a Renault F1!!

It's a great series, but what's on SBS is 2 years old. Foxtel has the latest episodes. Regardless, they do seem to have great fun in some amazing cars.

Love the shows. Now I have some downloading to do off finaldrive (Thanks 2nd Owner) for the link. Love the Unbreakable Toyota. Racing a DB9 against a train. It is one top show.

Yeah its a great show. My dad and i watch it religiously every week. Its a combination of facts, and humour all jam packed into every episode. But now were stuck with second best (Mythbusters) because the season is over... :
I loved the 1500 pound porshe's, was a great laugh. |

Hey crazy-au, whatchya doin' to my frog?
That unbreakable Toyota is a classic. There's another clip I've seen recently where Sabine Schmitz laps the Nurburgring in a Ford Transit in 10:02 (it all started after Jeremy Clarkson excitedly tells her that he just lapped the 'ring in under 10 miniutes, to which she replies "10 minutes, I do that in a van" - well, challenge on). |

Love it - the Porsche challenge was probably a fave, and the bobsled/rally car race, and the McLaren Mercedes SLR (this I saw on Fox so I don't know if was aired on SBS). This is 2nd only to South Park for me.

I like the show but can't stand Clarkson...really gets under my skin sometimes with the dumb things he says. The other two hosts are funny though.

Top Gear is one of the best shows I've ever seen, and because its British its not full of American crap all the time, sure there is a bit of british bias, but I'm more tolerant of that.

Besides, a VW built in China would be a 100 times better car then a Hyundai built in Germany. It's about the company's internal quality standards... and VW's are far higher then Hyundai's. And yes. Top Gear rocks. I have the entire Season 7 on VCD and Season 6 on VHS.
