Smile Ford Transit M-Sport for Vans 50th Anniversary..

"M-Sport, the company behind Ford’s WRC (World Rally Championship) cars, has come up with a special version of the Ford Transit inspired by its Fiesta RS WRC racer.

The motorsports outfit has collaborated with Van Sport, another UK firm, to come up with the special edition Transit in time for the van’s 50th anniversary.

The Transit M-Sport rides on lowered Eibach suspension and 18-inch OZ Racing wheels shod with 18-inch Michelin rubber. There’s also a new quad-tipped exhaust system, but unfortunately there’s no talk of any extra power or torque from the Custom’s 2.2-litre turbo-diesel.

In Europe the most powerful production variant of the front-wheel drive Transit Custom has 113kW of power and 385Nm of torque at its disposal.

The M-Sport has been fitted with a sports body kit including wheel arch and rear bumper extensions, a rear spoiler, a unique set of side sills, and a new lower front bumper with blue-tinted LED driving lights. In order to complete the rally car look, the Transit Custom M-Sport has been kitted out with livery inspired by the Fiesta RS WRC.

On the inside, the reworked Custom has unique instrument dials, leather seats with M-Sport embossing, and plenty of blue trim and highlights.

No word yet from M-Sport or Van Sport as to how many rally-inspired vans will be built, nor how much they will cost."

Pull the TDCi ... rear mount MIAMI in it ... then the M-Sport will mean something then.

Wow they managed to design a van with bodywork that looks fast standing still, thats quite an achievement.

With Vito and Transporter coming with 140 & 150kW engines as regular options mated to auto's sadly this isn't in the ball game.

I think its just this variant stuck with the 113kw engine. Surely one of the RWD models still have the same 3.2 diesel as Ranger.

Actually I don't think so in Europe. In the U.S. however it's a different story, in the larger Transit which is the Euro designed model built in the U.S. you can order the 3.2tdi, a V6 and the 3.5V6 ecoboost with 270kW of heaven and all with conventional autos. The U.S. and Aust are more closely aligned in commercial vehicle preferences like wanting autos, more powerful models and higher towing capacities than say Europe.

We've only got the 4 cylinder diesel for all models, including the big LWB ones.
