If you guys were to buy a second hand Falcon AU XR Tickford 16 inch wheels with tyres that will need replacing, what would you guys consider value for money?
I assume that the tyres would be approx $120 each (225/50 R16) so that would mean an extra $480 for a set of 4. If the rims ended up costing $300, after buying the tyres, the total cost will end up approx $780 not including installation (even if the wheel nuts were included in the deal). Is this example of a deal value for money? or is it better to get a more expensive wheel ie 17" that may cost slightly more but have decent tyres and total cost is in the $650-$750 mark including tyres? |

Get the 17s. There's a set in the for sale section for $500 including reasonable rubber.

Thanks guys.
After reading the thread about falcon resale value going out the window, it sounds like any investment on au's will depreciate fast and you will not recover in the end. |

The words "investment" and "cars" are unlikely to ever be related to each other unless you add the word "bad" or "loss". :
Get the 17's. Get them cause you like them rather then being a good investment.
