Make an example of the people by hitting them where it hurts. Make them have to work 60 hours a week for the rest of their lives to just make by. It's cheap, it's effective and it's extremely satisfying

The problem I see when dealing with these types of people is they have already proven they're criminals and if you cut them off from their usual tax revenue income stream they’ll most likely find other criminal activity in which to offend.

Incarcerating someone costs money, as does welfare and the cost to the community of criminal activities, therefore if public costs are going to be incurred then they may as well be punished at the same time with a lengthy gaol sentence with forced labour and the refusal to participate in labour programmes see the addition of sentence time.

If you want to punish someone, take away their freedom.

Fraud is white collar crime. The vast majority of fraudsters don't have the balls to go into proper crime, especially if they've already been slapped in the face by the full force of the legal system.

This woman in question for example. She's a greedy, naive and thinks she's smarter than the system, hence why she tries to pull a fast one and commit insurance fraud. I can't see her jacking cars in the middle of the night though. She's a white collar criminal, just a scumbag not a "thug".

There is more than one kind of fraud and many ways to commit white collar crime.

Some con men are prolific repeat offenders always looking for a new angle and they never have to resort to physical violence.
