Does anyone know if the back illumination on the standard ford CD player is globes or LEDs mounted to the board?

Globe, but soldered on to the pcb

I took mine out 7-8 years ago. Iirc they are about a t3 globe size.
I can pull apart mine and take photos but it's in storage.
