haha We have three in our unit and a surrogate cat which lives outdoors which gets fed by us. Animals everywhere....

We'd have a dog as well but its a bit hard in a unit to do that.

They always are waiting in the driveway when you come home and will walk with us along the bike track while we walk the dog....
There always home when your home except early in the morning lol.....must be when they get up to mischeif

its funny tho....you have little animals live around you so long they turn into little people
Your not wrong....the boy cat even puts his paws on you if I try and sleep in and they dont get breakfast...lol

They are very smart. I want a dog but not until ive got my own place.

Falcon_Phill - some dogs shoudl be around people...you just named one of them. I see no point in having a dog that can potentially destroy someones life, Id feel rather guilty if anything was to happen. Not all dogs are nuts, but some breeds (and there bogan owners) are not needed.

Yeah it does look like a ragdoll, they are a very expensive cat a friend of mine used to breed them. Very cute.

Good to see there are still some nice people in this world!

I'd be putting up posters in the vets and on some shop windows eg: milk bar, as that is an expensive cat, friends of ours breed Burman and it looks very much like a Burman, and they are quite a friendly cat unlike Siemese which are usually a one person cat.

Good to see decent folk at work. If it was meant to be you'll have a new puss by weeks end. My boy Oliver (chocolate point Siamese) ran away when we moved home 5 years ago. I didn't stop looking for him almost every day for over a year and even now I still have an eye out.

Point is, sometimes good owners do really dumb things like putting their cat out after only being in a new house for a few days. Hopefully the cat you have found has a owner that does love him and lost him somehow. If that's the case I hope they find each other again real soon. If not I think it is wonderful that you're prepared to adopt her.

I agree with this and the other two posts.

Dear as all hell but great cats. A mat eof mine has two of them and they have the temprament and personality of a dog like a Lab (friendly, funny & lazy) but are low maintainence like a cat. If it is a ragdoll, it'll last about 15 seconds at the animal aid before someone takes it. I've just signed a new lease that is VERY specific about pets, otherwise that's a cat worth driving to Geelong from SE suburbs for.

A beauty. Nice pix. Good on you Polyal for taking the trouble. I'd take it any day even with with my two dogs who would love it to death (not literally). But alas I am a long way away.

Do what will prbably be required soon anyway,an get her a CHIP which they insert under the skin(no pain)
If she gets lost they scan her,no dramas!

Its also much cheaper if ur pet is 'fixed'
Make sure your council has a chip reader or it's a waste of time and money... Our council strongly encouraged chipping of all dogs so we go along and get our dogs chipped. One buggers off and 2 days later I find him at the pound. Asked why they didn't ring me as he is chipped...??? Answer: This council doesn't have a chip reader.

in some states it is law now to have them. They are phasing in all pets to have chips and now even all purebreds are suposed to get chipped allready. They have portable chip readers that the pound rovers carry with them now!

What phoon said!

Take it to your local vet and see if it has been chipped, or if the owner has called regarding their cat.

If you don't have any luck, you might have to surrender it to a shelter.

I've mentioned before that my better half works for the RSPCA, and I know that they have better standards of care then other shelters. The downside is that they do put animals down if they are not adopted for a while. Wouldn't be an issue with this, given its temprament and looks. I'm sure if the owner doesn't want it, somebody else will.

I can't wait to buy a house so i can get a dog, and the better half can get her cat.

I dont think cats should be allowed outside full stop. Unless on a leash. All they do is kill all the birds and stuff and I have no tolerance for that.

Does it have any tattoo'd dots in one of it's ears? I'd get it checked for a chip.
Close, but I'm pretty sure it's a Birman (Birman Seal Point to be exact). More or less the same temperament as a rag doll and as expensive. The white socks give it away.

Err... excuse me, my wife's maltese/bichon (dog) kills birds on a reglar basis. I've spoken to it until I'm blue in the face - no deal, it just keeps doing it!

Then you will have to stop talking to it and associate the kill with something it does'nt like and eventually it should stop.

Its called training.
