Default Battery Replacement

I just received some good value 3v batteries from seller on eBay. Good batteries, cheap and super fast delivery.

Needed just one for new sound bar remote and thought the spare Mondy key could use one. Then remembered the trouble I had trying a couple of years ago to replace it.

So before I start looking at manuals and cursing loudly again I was wondering if anybody had any tips to opening the key to insert a new battery or do I need a Ford dealer?

TIA Thumbs Murphy

Thanks for that. Brings back memories of my last attempt. Was too scared to force anything or having the blade drop out and being unable to replace it.

BTW: Ordered these on Saturday and they arrived in Tuesdays mail for $4.89 delivered. Noticed they have gone up to $7.89 and seller in Essendon, Melbourne.

Determined to get it done yesterday I got the screwdriver and attacked it. To no avail as it didn't want to budge. Worried about breaking something I stopped off at the local Ford dealer and it took their bloke about 5 minutes. Pity I didn't get to observe but was told there was a little corrosion inside it and I reckon they treated that before putting it back together. It works perfectly.

No charge and even though I insisted I had checked the airbag info he ran my rego again and verified not a problem.

Thanks to Jefferson Ford Mentone.
