The 993... 911 twin turbo would have to be the most sought after and revered?

Its nickname was the WIDOW-MAKER

The last and best of the original air-cooled 911s.

They were the first to be water cooled, not sure about the intercooler but i think it was a mix of both air/water.

I think they ran torsion bars and bad weight bias towards the outside of the rear axle, hence the widow-maker name tag.

993s were the last air cooled ones.
Probably the reason why 993 Turbos have asking prices of 3-4 times of 996 Turbos. And normal 993s are twice the price of 996s. Doesn't help that most 996s are autos.
I'd kill for a 911 from any series/chassis, providing it is a manual.
But seeing how much they've gone up in value over the last few years, and how well 997s hold value, is demoralising.

I think if someone has the spare cash for a weekend car, grab a 944 or 968 before prices for them start doing the same (not to the same extent but).

In 2011 I was getting an APR tune done on my mk6 Golf GTI from a Porsche specialist and we started discussing all the different models.
I was telling him how I wanted a 993 but the prices were out of reach and I hoped to maybe get a 997 Carrera S.
He pointed to two 964's out the front of his shop and a said go buy yourself the best 964 you can afford, they are screwed together well and are undervalued.
I left the shop thinking that they maybe mechanically sound but they don't really do anything for me.
I also thought if they are that good why are there so cheap. (good examples were in the $30-50K range from memory).
I wish I had of taken his advice, a lot of decent examples now command north of $150K with turbo's going for over $300K!
997's could be had in the high $70K's just a few years back, those same cars now have a lot more kays are older and start at $100K!
If I hadn't of been such a tight ar$e I could have bought one, driven it and then made a profit when selling it.

Correct, 964 particularly because it was the “Bad Boys” model. 993 are off the charts because they’re the last of the air cooled. Anything widebody in 996 or 997 will be a good buy and it’s already showing to be as such.

Old man bought a 997.2 Turbo S PDK when it was only a couple years old and decided a number of times to sell it because of the lack of use it gets. I told him to research the prices and compare to what he paid and what do you know, they’re back up near what he paid for his, so he’s keeping it. He also absolutely loves it, so there’s also that.

If you can still find a clean 996 Turbo, then get in while you can. Once known as the ugly duckling, they’re starting to really shoot up.

I'm hoping you guys all know about the rear suspension setup on Porsches that they have been running for alooong time.

As you accellerate while driving.....The rear wheels get 'forced' into the road/track which creates......

More Traction.

Absolute German Geniuses IMHO!!!!!
