Happy New Year to all AFF members from the admin and moderation team.
This year, there will be a number of changes made to how the Project Car of the Month and Year will be handled. Here is what the changes are; 1. ALL CARS WILL BE ELIGIBLE I really do believe that this is the best change that will benefit all AFF members. This year any member that creates any sort of build thread for any sort of car anywhere within Australian Ford Forums will be eligible for PCOTM and/or PCOTY award(s). Previously, build threads created in the project section seemed to be the only threads that were given awards - this will be no longer. Also, your build thread does not necessarily have to be a full re-build. Your thread can simply be about how you have personalised your car and how you have enjoyed your car. 2. PREVIOUS WINNERS WILL BE CONSIDERED If you won an award previously and have since added to the thread your build will be considered for any further awards. Previously once you won an award for that build you could not win any further awards. 3. RECOGNITION FOR YOUR EFFORT We are currently working on some sort of 'badge' (something like a 10 year member badge) for winners of PCOTM and PCOTY. These badges will back date. Please be patient while we work out how we are going to go about this. Speaking of backdating, any build threads that were previously overlooked as they did not qualify will now be considered. We are hoping to see some great build threads that include cars such as;
We will be not just looking at the actual build but also if it is a good read. Not only do we want to see the technical side of the build but also the social side of it as well. We would love to see how others have helped (particularly if they are other AFF members), why you have chosen that particular car (maybe you owned one when younger), your successes but also your mistakes etc... The most important thing we want to see is you enjoying it. A project thread could win it simply because it is a good read without too much technical work at all. Another thing we want to see is pictures and plenty of them. We all know that photobucket has mucked everything up but there are still plenty of other photo hosting sites out there. Sites such as postimage and imgur still allow you to host your images for free (there may be some sort of limit to these sites in terms of amount of photos). There is also the AFF image gallery that can be utilised. PM me if you need any help with this. If anyone has any questions whatsoever, please shoot me a PM - there is no such thing as a stupid question. Also if you have any suggestions please let me know - I don't pretend to have all of the answers. Paul |
