Default Thermo fans - twin vs single.

Hi guys

I've had a crack at searching but not coming up with much.
Can anyone point me to good threads on thermo fans please.
I'm looking for info on twin vs single and what's best, also cfm rates.

I have an XF Fairmont with a 400, I think the twin thermo fans are EF/EL.
They do keep it cool but i'm looking to improve the cooling without going clutch fan (no room).

Opinions on AU - FG fans please?.
Do the BA - FG turbo cars have differing fan blades between Turbo and NA?.

Thanks in advance and merry xmas from across the ditch.
Admin, please move to correct forum if need be.

EF/EL thermofan is pretty good as far as thermofan goes.

Otherwise the big single FG one is also good.

As far as CFM ratings I don't have data unfortunately.

I have had both AU twins and a BF/FG single on my XD 351 (Currently have the BF single fitted).

They were both controlled via a Davies Craig 0444 twin fan controller, the AU using both relays, starting the fans 10 seconds apart while the BF only uses the first relay. Both set-ups were full speed only, not two speed.

I found both fans to be excellent at keeping engine temps under control, even on very hot days in stop/start traffic. The reason I changed to the single BF was only due to the set-up being full speed only with the controller I used. The AU fans were very noisy when both were running, the BF single is much quieter.

The BF single also fitted the radiator a little bit better once it was trimmed.

With the correct set-up, either would be great I think.
