Nah sorry, not interested in selling. It's in issue no.3 2003 if you want to try and track down a copy.

Post up some pics mate, its a car that will go down in history!
Unfortunately not at this stage, unless you can track down a 2012 FPV Brochure with the kinetic blue GT in it!

For sale again???
https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/det...-7120221/?Cr=3 THAT price.. Wow. Anyone know what people are actually getting for FPVs in reality under current conditions? They've been notorious in the past for being hard to sell... I'm watching many and they aren't moving too quick. |

i just upped my insurance value of mine to $38, i just matched price of a similar spec on carsales. although mine rolled of the line 6 cars after this one and its the only FPV in Narooma Blue, also manual and mint if i sold it in a covid auction i'd want $80k (thats the i don't want to sell it price)
check this article out https://www.carsales.com.au/editoria...WNeFPK8QsCordU

Some interesting opinions in that carsales article, thanks for sharing.
Mitsubishi 380 & Territory? Not sure about that.. I don't think either fit into the enthusiast bracket for mine, are people really going to want to fork out big money for these over all the other 'Aussie' options? I don't think so. All enthusiasts have their own thoughts and opinions. I like the BA GT, low kms, untouched numbered (and XR8 / XR6T) B% series cars are uncommon and a great proposition. I'd prefer a turbo 6 variant over the 5.4l era of V8s. Just me. I think if you asked people to provide their own 'Top 6 Aussie Cars to invest in now' list, everyone's would look different. |

You would want to hurry up and sell because surely these prices will not last.

Dealers are certainly doing their best to inflate the market off the back of some interesting HSV auction results.
One could say that FPV seems undervalued compared to HSV, all that matters is what they sell for though. As I said, FPVs have been known to be a hard sell. |

A few people will always pay overs when any market is inflated. Look at real estate at the moment, emotion and the fear of missing out is driving it up as much as anything.
Those with unrealistic prices on their cars might get lucky, a fool is born every minute. |

Being second hand and being what it is makes it a little unique. There probably isn't another red BA GT like it.
Wether that's enough for someone to really want it no matter what remains to be seen. What I find interesting is new car salesment acting like they have the holy grail on their lot, when it's one of many, and you could order another just like it if you were ok to wait.

Can't buy what I have.... if this sells for silly money I might try listing mine and pay off my mortgage.

Unless you have a super rare factory numbered car (not colour X, with trans X, etc), only the super low kms examples are going for big money. If this 003 had sub 10,000kms I doubt it would even fetch what he wants. This is judging by what HSVs with very kms of a similar age are going for. FPV still a long way off catching up... In reality, you're in GT F range (with no kms) for just a lil more than what this guy wants. With nearly 100,000kms on it.. I think this is a $60-70k car personally, and even at that not an easy sell. |

I saw this one on eBay and wasn't convinced it was genuine bidding to the price it got to. This is a story that will have to be explained with a file in hand and paperwork, not to mention the Blueprint mag, with it's one line with SIDO. There is far too much involved in explaining what it is and why that COULD be significant, not a real genuine significance of any value to the provenance.
Just my 2c. I would love to speak to an inside historian / record keeper at Ford or whomever kept those details about first last cars, motor show cars, press cars, VIN inputs for line sequence. Mostly seems like the people who worked there don't really care to share the information that people should have - before they take the history to the grave. RIP. |

Your best bet at this point in time is to watch the auctions, Llyods, Shannons, etc.
That W1 Maloo and a couple of W427 auction results have caused some panic buying and inflation in the HSV market, it's now passed over to the Falcons. Though as you've said, people aren't getting what they're asking. The sticker pack BF Cobras are back on the market again for stupid prices, always notoriously hard to move. Dealers are doing their best to inflate the market as they always do too. Even HSVs aren't going for what people are trying to get for the FPV equivalents. |
