Default 2010 Fiesta Timing belt due, any tips?

G'day all

I've got a mate who wants me to do a timing belt on his 2010 fiesta. It's a WT model but seems to have the 1.6ltr WS motor in it(so I've been told, I've yet to actual lay eyes on the car)

Regardless, any tips and tricks? I read theres some timing tools needed to find TDC with the crank/lock the cams and lock up the flywheel (for easier balancer removal), and also that the crank bolts are 1 use.

Does that all sound right? Can it be done easily without the tools or do the cams on this motor have a habit of moving/being a ***** to line back up when tensions released?

If the tools are needed, where's the cheapest place to get them for a 1 off use?

Cheers all!

Look for a Gates kit to do it (ebay). The one I got a few days ago for a WP has all the belts, tensioner and bolts. Timing bolt kits can be found there too. Crank bolt was EXTREMELY tight and wouldn't come off until i put a propane torch on the head for a minute or so then it came off easily. There appears to be a locking compound under the head, not on the threads.

Do not do it without the tools.
Do not do it without the tools.
You need the tools to lock up the crank and cams as nothing is marked or keyed. If you take the balancer off without the tools it’s game over and a new engine may be required.
I’ve seen it happen.
Do not do it without the tools.
