Post Need Eski wheel

Hey all,

Had a bit of an incident with my 1980 mk2 eski. Im after a 13x7 Rebel Mag (shown in picture) or a spare to fit. If anyone has one or knows where i can find one it would be a huge help. Canberra region.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Nice choice! I had a set on my old RS2000,

Have you tried to fix the old one through the Wheel Factory in Qbn??

yeah they are pretty trick looking rims! I havent asked about getting it fixed yet, its missing a piece from the inside edge (only about 2 inches long), i was unable to find the missing bit in the dark. Do you think i would still have a chance of getting it fixed it even though i dont have the piece?

Sure. Go out and see them. I've seen some of their handywork, and they fixed a rim that I thought was only good for scrap.

Downside is that you might end up getting all your rims repolished and painted, as they make them look like new.

What size tyres are you running? 215's? 235's??

Thanks for the info! The other rims are in very good condition so hopefully they dont need to be re-done. At the moment the tyres are 205's. Ill take the rim out to QBN and see what they can do for me.
Thanks again!

I'm sure I saw a set of these rims on Ebay for about $80. At that price you could ship them up from Melbourne and have 3 spares.

Did a bit of research today and came up with the following leads that might be of interest:

Business Name Rebel Wheels
Phone 02 4285 4977
Fax 02 4284 97223
Address 38 Pringle Rd
Fairy Meadow NSW 2519
Australia
Description Rebel Wheels can repair and refurbish your damaged mag wheels

Also came across:
Rebel Wheels & Tyres
5 Doyle Ave Unanderra NSW 2526

On top of that, this bloke has 5 - might be persuaded to sell one?
http://www.rallytorque.com.au/forsale.htm

Also, under clearances for Formula Ford, the following:
http://www.formulaford1600.com.au/MA...clearances.htm
"3 x Rebel Wheels (The Lot), $250;"

See how you go with all that....

Thanks for all the info!! Thats a huge help!

I have emailed the guy with the 3 wheels for sale. Ill see how that goes. It wouldnt hurt to have a spare too, as i dont have one anyway. If i have no luck with that then i think getting the wheel repaired is going to be the best idea, im sure someone will be able to fix it.

Thanks again, ill post up here once i get a reply and let u know how it all goes!

Well,
i went to the Wheel Factory which is now located in Fyshwick...not in QBN anymore. The wheel could not be fixed, it was too far gone. So thats the bad news, but the good news is that now i think ill put a new set on the esky. I had a look at a couple at QuickFit and got some ideas. Im thinking that 15x about 6.5 is going to be the way to go. I also like the idea of a bit of dish, the more the better, and machined, probably 5 spoke or 6 spoke. If anyone has any suggestions they would be much appreciated. Ill post up some pics up soon of some that i was looking at. But i am still interested in a spare wheel, something cheap. If anyone has one let me know. Canberra area.
Thanks for everyones help so far!

After a small amount of looking around i thought i might see if some rs2000 15" Hotwire rims can be found. How easy are these to get? Does anyone have any/know of where i might find some in good condition?

Sorry to highjack for a sec mate.
Q.
Are esky stud patterns 4 x 114.3?

I have a set of 5 spoke imo Globes (13") i want to pass off. Not suggesting them for you as they arent perfect, and Im too far away but Im trying to find out what they fit. Supposedly a dude temporarily had XP Falcon wheels on his Laser (4x114.3), XP's I believe have the same stud pattern as a Cortina and Escort. So I thought Id ask.
