Because theyre rarely all owned by the same company, and would mean one big bill every three months or so....

You beat me in my response, most bikers love Mr Sheen especially on the chrome work.

Polishing makes it shine and protects it from tarnishing and oxidation., gives that extra lustre look.
Polishing also creates a protective layer that helps keep it clean and prevents scratches.

I go to buy 2 front tyres for the Smart car as the ones on it are 11 years old & cracked, 155/50/R15, get a price of over $250 per tyre and only 2 manufacturers, seeing that the Smartie has staggered tyres, I went for the next size up on the front and the same with the rear, so a full set fitted and balanced for $380.

Gumption works better..... im joking

Well, the dodgey thing, one of them atleast, the boat place i did work experience at in year 10 was, a used fibreglass boat with a white hull thats all scratched up, gumption it. The buyer buys it because it 'looks' good, but 1st time they put it in the water the gumption disolves and it goes back to being a scraped up marked up boat.

Don't see a problem with gumption cleaner if applied correctly, works like a mild cutting agent, a good rinse off and polish would have been beneficial.

To be honest, sound like the gelcoat was worn though on the boat.

Non gel coated boats. Older ones. I was the work experience kid. It was to hide the deep scratches that exposed the fibreglass, so it was white, just dodgey using that as a filler as opposed to sanding, actual filler and paint. It was a fleece, 2nd hand boat, 7 day warrenty banking on the fact they didn't sell any of the required safety stuff making that a thing for the new owner to go elswhere to buy and hopefully in over a week. That place shut up shop many years ago, clearly dodgey practices was the main reason. There was also what they'd do with the auction purchased ex maritime or water police outboards. Thats only a story if anyone cares.

I cant seem to find anything saying that Mr Sheen has any abrasive properties, so whilst not any kind of polish, it does contain waxes, silicone & solvents, so it would appear to work well as a cleaning agent as well as being a tarnish/oxidation preventative.
Interestingly, apparently Mr Sheen is also good on stainless steel!

Anyway, onto my weekly WHY IS IT's

1: WHY is it that so many people think its perfectly acceptable to DIY everything? Bruh..... if you need to ask for advice on how to change your brake pads or suspension, is it really such a good idea for you to be working on things that if not done properly, could cause MAJOR safety problems?

2: WHY is it that so many people with absolutey no experience whinge so damn much thinking theyre getting "ripped off" by tradespeople just because Tracey Grims***, ACA, Today tonight and their ilk, combined with paid "professionals" and clowns like cadogan. Its like the guys who write warranty labour times...... Of course it takes 45 minutes to replace the main bearings in a V12 Ferrari.... without disassembling the car....

3: WHY is it, that people think its perfectly acceptable to cut through servo forecourts to avoid red lights?

Why is it today is recognising domestic violence and protecting women, and here in Perth a woman has been charged with manslaughter for running over her partner after a dispute. Ironic really.

It certainly doesn't have any abrasive polishing ability, so you are not really "polishing" anything with it. The waxes and silicone do help fill and mask imperfections. Same concept to a "cleaner wax" or glaze on car paintwork, they add gloss and slickness while filling in imperfections, however the result is short lived as they wash off over time.

That's not to say its not worth doing or that it doesn't work, rather that you aren't actually polishing anything with those products.

You can guarantee those same people would get offended if you questioned their hourly rate. This is something that has always annoyed me, as in people thinking they are getting ripped off by a tradesman. At the end of the day, if they think it's so easy and not worth $XYZ per hour, they why don't they do it themselves? Just because you get charged a certain amount, that doesn't mean the tradie earns that amount. Nor does it account for years of training, general running costs, tools and equipment, book keeping................... I struggle to understand why many people can't seem to grasp that concept.

While its undoubtably an important issue, I absolutely detest how this paints all men as aggressive wife beaters.

Default Re: Why is it.................?

for the first time in my life I have a boss who IS DA MAN..
tell me yesterday morning that he's done. Over it, walking out the door on the 10th of Jan 2025 for good.

Man that REALLY sucks a r s e.
I sure hope that the replacement isn't the young whipper snapper that's been 'trying' to learn my bosses job when he was on work cover. Major pain in my ring piece.

For example:
My boss never calls me unless it's to pick something up or enquire as to where I am because a customer is stressing about where his / her delivery is. Fair enough to, as my truck is not tracked... by my sub contracted boss anyway.

The young whipper snapper (about 26 Y.O.) has rung many times on different days at like 4:05pm to tell me that I am finished for the day.. yeah? Really?

No shit Sherlock. Why ring me to waste my time by telling me the obvious?

Dumb fsck.

Got zero respect for this individual. Sure hope I don't have to find a new No.1 (boss / employer) to sub contract for.

Hmm, that gives me an idea.. Maybe I should stop driving and start delegating..

It's always a pain having to break in a new boss.

Happy Tuesday guys!!!

Cheers,

One Mad Man.
