Default Just a small question...

Ok. For whatever reason, you're sitting at home and a random guy comes up and offers you one of these cars. You can only choose one.

They are both worth about the same, at the $410,000 mark.

Pictures are huge on purpose, but they're only 100kb or so each so shouldn't be a problem for dial-uppers.

So...

Which would you choose, and why?

2006 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster

1972 Lamborghini Miura SV

Please, keep it on topic...

I'm interested to know other peoples opinions...

Murcielago for sure, without even a second thought.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE the Miura, but the old lambos aren't exactly put together well, and the Miura's peformance, although fast for its day, is not exactly earth shattering anymore.

0-100 in 6.3 seconds, 1/4 mile done in 14.5 seconds, compared to the Murcielago;
0-100 in 3.3 seconds, 1/4 mile done in 11.2 seconds.

I know theres more to cars then stats though, and the Miura simply oozes character and soul. But its not enough to sway me from the Murcie!

To be really honest though, for $410,000, I buy a Ford GT and a big house in Nurburg and spend the rest of my days lapping the 'ring.

(but if someone would loan me the extra couple of hundred grand I'd get a Pagani Zonda F! )

My vote: Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster

HATE to own one, you'd drive the F3 at 120km/h and on a typical trip from Lake Macquarie into Sydney and return you'd be guaranteed of being dobbed in to police for 'speeding' at least once a day without any question of a doubt.

I'd be more enjoying the adjoining highway in any case.

When I had a scanner in my largish home garage working away, you'd hear of people who'd rang Gosford police complaining of 'a red NSX", a black NSX', 'black ferrari; on the F3 blah blah blah for 'speeding'.

Comparatively very few complaints of this in relation to lesser everyday cars, the odd exception, sure, but these complaints would be reported speeds up to and beyond 180km/h and associated other driver behaviours, overtaking in the emergency shoulder etc and so on.

SOME of this is undoubtably jealousy, tall poppy stuff.

God forbid if you dare park such an beast at one or two of the well known shopping centres, something you CAN doin other places.

Lamborghini Miura SV is a great car but it gets real hot in that cabin way to quicky. I would buy the roadster on all accounts excet if I was investing.

2006 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster, I like the angular look. The Miura SV has a more "rounded" body. To my eye, anyway.
