It would be a job that could work, you could attach a chrome strip to the bottom of the light to replicate the BA.
Just in my minds eye it would also be easy ( maybe not ) to get the AU light to look like the BA. You would remove the light and build a cover for the corners ( painted in the cars colour's ) that would take of the points / sharp ends, giving the appearance of a BA tail light. Depending on the time taken and method it could be done and you would need to get the specks from a BA light to replicate the angles etc. Nothing is impossible, i was looking at the mod before i sold my AU |

yeah its a shame , thats 1 thing i gotta admit i like about the newer ba/bf's - the rear tail lights - but yes as mentioned , they are totally a different shape- especially on the sides of the car the Au lights come to like a triangle point , and the ba/bf lights on the side square off before the bottom of the light making more of a 90 degree point.

whats the go with taking the rear end from a fairmont ghia??? IE rear quaterpannels, bootlid, bumper, lights ??? can this be done without allot of dramas (besides unpicking the spot welds and rewelding - lol)
The fairmont ghia's backend looks very similar to the BA's (imo) and i think they have the chrome strip also on the lights??? |

AFAIK, tailights on FGs are exactly the same as the AU3 lights (clear indicator lenses)

excuse me if I sound arrogant, but how can anyone who is a Ford fan not see with their naked eye that BA/F tailights are TOTALLY different to an AU? There is a small problem called SHEETMETAL which is different between the two models. Hmm............. I wonder if XB tailights will fit my EB........

And if i refer to your words(not mine) AU and BA is the same body shape/chassis and Ford changed the first letter from A to B. which was why i thought the BA tail lights may have fitted into the Au. |

Maybe someone could make up a sticker kit to convert the AU lights to the BA... just take a bit off the top, and chrome strips down the bottom... viola!
lol

CAn one of the MODS delete this thread!!! It was supposed to be a simple Yes or No question to whether BA lights bolted directly into Au's.
