When playing live , we used to play 50 min / 10 min off . Start each set with 2-3 slow songs (for oldies) 6-8 MOR (Middle of the Road) followed by "Up-beat" stuff . that way you have a variety all night . If you play a song and you find a crowd get up , stay with that style for a while , don't drop in a slow one , or something completely different.

Playing for a large age group IS hard , New Years Eve 1999/2000 - 2000/2001 and 2001/2002 I played a "Solo" job just outside Bundagerg , age group was small kids to ppl in their 80's , Old Time dancers , Line Dancers & R&R Dancers . Must have been happy with what I did , I got $1,000 for the night + Accomodation for my family for a week each year.

Very Bad pic I Know , but just to show I really do this stuff (NYE 2001/2002)
