Default Rego time limit in new state

Just wondering how long do interstate arrivals have before they have to rego their vehicles with Qld plates ?

i think 2-3 months... but can be longer if they don't know .. :P

* time will probably be different to each state...

Sooo, 4-5 years is a tad long ? Is there some advantage in holding onto VIC plates in QLD?

I lived in Qld over 4 years with a vic regoed car. Even traded it in with Vic plates. No big deal.

saves a lot of cash with Vic rego,change when cop asks you to.i kept my XR Falcon in Tasmania rego for 3 years saving me over a $1000 or more in that time
