My vote goes to the Formula 1 BRM 1.5 litre V-16 Supercharged engine.
As Bill Sherwood says, and I have to agree "This car has the most glorious sounding engine from any car of any era I've EVER heard!" http://www.billzilla.org/BRM-pushstart.mp3 http://www.billzilla.org/BRM-loudpass.mp3 http://www.billzilla.org/BRM-returntopits.mp3 http://www.billzilla.org/BRM-fulltrack.mp3 http://www.billzilla.org/BRM-incar.mp3 |

Woz at a tractor pull comp at the show here is Perth once, they had a v16 Rolls Royce engine somewhere in excess of 12 litres.. The vibrations were similar to a big compactor, and were were some meters back!!
That was awesome. |

Maybe, 1650ci does sound familiar.. but I thought there were only a few of those motors on vehicles anywhere in the world. Anyway, was an impressive beast!! |

That's simply amazing for a 1.5L! Those pistons must be freaking tiny...
