highway however is a different story (great economy hwy).
also the vx is good on fuel on the highway too, we got from brisbane to sydney on one tank of fuel 65 litres or less (pretty good i reckon) - VX S manual tho.
I dont know about the auto but the manual with sensible driving you can get over 450km a tank. I push my car hard and still get 430km a tank.

My bro had a EFII Fairmont that could get 450-500km around town, On highways he could get if lucky 6.5-8l/100 on the trip on cruise. His BA Fairmont isn't as good around town and a touch of highway driving to work, He gets around 12-14l/100. With a best of 750km on highways last year going to Queensland.
He tells me the more he baby's it the worse it is on fuel. He a couple of week ago tells me he has worked it out and got a week of 11.5l/100. He was very impressed with that. The EF was manual the BA is Auto.
I after 12months of work on my car have finally got good KM. 2 tanks of 66lt's i got 455km and 479km. With more on the local driving side for both.

My BA does avg 430km per tank. However I noticed if I drive conservatively I squeeze an extra 10-20km out of the tank. Trying to change bad driving habits now as petrol prices are sky rocketing to Mars.

BTW: The VE designs look so sissy.... oh no, a new aussie eyesore!!!!

Just another car that will be top of the line until Ford knock it off its perch again. Im not worried about VE. Afterall, its just another Commodore.
I totally argee here. I have seen a few floating around my area and initially thought I was following a 7 Series BMW it looked that big.

I dont know that I will like the VE.

The BA/BF is a tough looking machine and has a body shape that wont age that badly. Ford have made a great progression from the AU Series to the Barra. Congrats Ford.

If you mean the Caprice/Statesman i would agree 100% it's long it's real large looking.
But the Commodore doesn't seem as large as first thought i was expecting a size difference like VL to VT from the way they talk about it.
