I've got a 3/8" (10mm) or 1/2" (12mm) (can never remember which one) spacer. I have no idea if it does anything, but they're not expensive, and in theory keep heat out of the intake manifold. I got mine via mail order (phone order) from Raceparts Australia. They are based in or near Brisbane.

I've got a 1/2" spacer on my AU, and no bonnet clearance issues.
No idea if they really do anything (other than lengthen the inlet runners). The upper still feels pretty hot after a run at the track. I paid about $30 for mine with a bunch of stuff I brought over from the states.

I have a 1/2" one on mine, it does keep the upper intake a bit cooler.
The TPS on mine has touched the bonnet on a few occasions (under hard acceloration) I also have a trickflow 10mm spacer, tho i dont have bolts or gaskets for it, which i want to get rid of, ( they are $120 for the kit at highperformance world) let me know if you want it. |

The main reason they were put on the Tickford cars eg:: ELGT was to lenthern the runner, to improve low torque & throttle responce.
Thats why the ELGT made the same power as the EB only at slightly lower RPM. :eclipsee_
