High guys, my mate is a new member(woofy) who bought a ZL Fairlane on Friday afternoon.
When he bought the car he asked for a reciept, which he got and the signed rego paper. The problem is that the rego paper he got is an old one and motor reg wont transfer it using this form. He rang the owner and he said he will do it when it suits him. Does anyone know who he can contact in regards to this problem as he is worried that something shifty is going on. Cheers Steve |

report it to the police ASAP this covers him incase the guy reports it stolen!!!The police will then advise on the best course of action. KEEP THE RECEIPT and the add from the paper.. Its the only thing other than his woord that he has.

I think in NSW wales a statutory declaration will suffice if no reciept is available?

You can get a transfer form from any rego office just fill it in,if the previous owner wont sign it then take it back with sale reciept/proof of purchase. They should then rego it in mates name if he can prove he now is the new owner. I have done this after losing singed transfer slip just showed them the signed reciept.
