Dont know about iTunes but perhaps some burning software might be available at MajorGeeks?, I use Nero 6 myself, you could also have a look at Musicmatch.

Yeah use Nero or if you have it, PowerDVD.
I use powerDVD and it won't let you choose a burn speed that is too fast for the disc.

it is possible that it is trying to burn at a speed that is too fast for the disc. so look on the cd's. should tell you their maximum burn speed and set it to that.

I could be wrong, but i thought the standard speed for cds was 52X, Unless they are CDRW's or really old CDR's. I have never had a problem with Nero, as it also choses the right speed for the disc. |

If the drive had a maximum burn speed of 2, then he wouldn't be getting the error msg telling him that the burn speed is to fast. |

Could the brand of discs. Are they a cheap brand? Some drives have trouble with cheap brands. What is the drive? And have you tried updating the firmware? This can help with the burn routine for some discs.

anyways sometimes the drive should be able to slow the speed down, otherwise the program shouldnt be 'forcing' the cd to brun quicker than it is. slowing it down on the CD Drive will only make the reading/writing process slower than it already is..(not really relevent so undo it) but whatever the program it should be auto or set it to whatever the speed on the CD is(only in that burning program not the drive) best one to use is Nero they even have trial version which dont expire and do everything bar some high tech stuff...
