15k?
I'd get a few year old impreza hatch/wagon.
Get something unmolested and look around at just how bloody cheap it is to get more power!

TE50

This is a GREAT car....And fits all your criteria (Some good bargaining would get you pretty close to your limit)
I did the last 50K in it before getting a GT-P...

I would go XR8 Sprint, it will go up in value. A VS / VR HSV would nice too.

and are any of these made after 1998?

im thinking maybe an AU LTD or even an AU XR8 at the moment. funny thing is everyone has been saying that luxury cars are worth nothing...i can find more AU XR8s under 15k than i can AU LTDs!

I'd look at these...

1999 AU XR8
2001 AU XLS V8
1999 Fairlane Ghia - But get rid of the wheels
1999 Fairlane Ghia - A shame about the k's, but looks to have an exhaust and be a millenium pack (could be wrong)

I'd probably go with the Blue 99 Ghia and ditch those wheels and install some territory stockies to keep costs down.

I'd give them a ring and ask them for a 'no trade' price. If you dont have a car to trade in quite often the price comes down as they dont have the hassle of offloading your old banger.

Sorry 'bout that... is that better?

Looks like it is still available,

What body part can I buy? I'd like to post something to Mark Latham.

[Edit]: The car is in Melbourne - right where Davway is. Davway could always finance the 15K and pay cash for the balance, I suppose.
That is a beauty of a car. I saw it in the flesh on Saturday, it is in absolutlely immaculate condition. If i was looking around for affordable luxury with the power to go with it, I'd be checking this one out for sure.
