Awesome find, regardless of miles it looks very original and unmolestered.

And that alone will make it worth the ask to someone.

Didn't it say in the first post that the car comes with SERVICE HISTORY???

That would rule out 232000.

Yep, probably would, although id say 132 is close based on condition, but you never really know, in any event it looks awesome IMO, love then in that unmolestered state.

This idiot doesn't know what hes on about.

Condition doesn't look bad to me. All i can see is some dust and the tiniest bit of surface rust on **** in the engine bay.

for crying out loud, its original paint and engine bay has some stone chips wow big deal must make it a faker hahaha, yes the miles are correct with service history to match, i keep looking at pics and trying to work out how anyone can say **** condition(you absolute fool). its actually one of the 300 built special models, his dad reckons, and by the people who have seen it and made offers i dont doubt it,but i did not know enough about HO,s to know what he was talking about.
go you knockers,at least some of us appreciate what an awsome car it must be.

Only an astute buyer would with a lazy $800K would snap that up. Imagine the stamp duty if he went to register it, not that he would. Does it run? I wouldn't own it regardless of price, its a manual.

i dont want to sound nasty i think paying 800k is a waste of money what enjoyment can you get from it i bet it will end up in another shed locked away.good luck to him if he gets 800k he has done well.If i had the cash i would just buy a ho replica and enjoy it out on the road cruising alot more fun than having it sit in a shed when it comes down to it who pulls you over and askes to see your compliance plates thats what your paying for a few numbers its getting crazy. All it means is us poor people cant aford the classics because every body is starting to ask stupid prices for there cars when they are not worth it.Agree or diagree it is true

Yeah but if you can afford 800k for a car you can probably afford as many toys as you want anyway!

I agree with the fact that it looks pretty damn good for sitting for 30 years. Oh i bloody wish i could win the lotto.

Thumbs down F,n Ridiculous

Absolutely correct. I bought my first car at 17, XW phase 2 with cleveland engine (one of 50 if i remember correctly)sold for $7500 in 88 saw it for sale last year $150000 WTF. It hasn,t been driven in years- i lost my license in 3 days with it, pretty soon a backyard XW-XY Fairmont with 1000 000 miles will be $50 000 because of people who see them as investments and not DRIVING them!!! How could anyone even afford to buy / Make a replica ...??? :

Nice old car, like being in a time warp, arent they meant to have a GTHO badge/sticker on the glove box?
Any pics of the ompliance plate.
A mate of mine is laughing all the way to the bank, having found an unrestored PH2-1/2 in an obsure part of the country for 100k,and were not even talking months ago..

What a find! To those saying it's in bad condition, it looks pretty good to me. Sure, it needs a clean, but a bit of dust doesn't hurt anything.

Good work,

For the knocker remember that in 1970 you could order cars as you wanted them. Fairlanes with manual transmissions etc.

In fact I know of a GTHO that has the "wrong" colour and when it was checked with FoMoCo using the chassis number to find the correct colour for resto was advised that the car was ordered with a non standard 'special paint' and is tagged and verified as such.

I'm sure that anyone who is about to drop that amount of cash will verify what they are buying before parting with anything maore than a deposit

The pricing of this cars is however out of control. IMO $800k !!!

But in 1970 you could buy a house in inner Melb for the $4500 a GTHO cost and that would also be worth the $800. Where people make a quid is if they are lucky to own one when the sharp rises come. The guy that paid $70K 10 years ago and sold it for $100K 3 years ago would be vomiting. 1; because he should have bought a house with the cash and 2; the increases since he sold it.

Nicholas.
I personly know someone who looked at this car last week and told me about it. He was one of the first (or the first) to look at it.
This car is genuine and has been in a shed since 1978.
If he was luck enough to buy it, it would be restored and put away for superannuation.
i dont think this car would get too many more miles on it.
Nice to see the pictures after hearing about it during the week.
