Default BTA Motorsports FORD V's HOLDEN DYNO DAY

After a long day at BTA Motorsports Holden V's Ford Dyno Day.

It has tuned out to be a very successfull one for the ford camp.

The day didn't look good at the start with fords being outnumbered to the tune of 25 holdens to 13 fords.

I said (in jest) early on that they would need twice as many cars to match the fords numbers on the dyno. Turned out to be true.

The results are in and they don't look pretty for the Holden guy's.

5 categories and Ford took out the lot

N/A 6 = George Hartis BA XR6 139.9 rwkw

N/A 8 = Hakan Gursel BA MK2 GT 280.1 rwkw

Forced 6 = Brian Lord BA F6 Typhoon 517.2 rwkw

Forced 8 = Greame Elliot EB XR8 twin Turbo 406.4 rwkw

Overall = Brian Lord 517.2 rwkw

Well done to all the winners

There were no limitations. But all cars were run on pump fuel.

The typhoon is a well known car from the turbo forums.

I am not aware that the F6 can even be run on pump fuel. 480ish on recent aff dyno day, and that was C16...

At 7450 rpm it didn't sound like that sort of rpm though! Did it EASY....
But good turbo cars do !!!!

im loving the eb to be honest! a popular and well know eb on forums as we all know.. i love it. to look at that a eb mixing with the sorts of the latest falcons out is awesome in my books. a car that came out in the early 90's to be pullin over 400kw at the wheels is somethin to be proud about! good work to all the boys who went at it. cant wait to get the ol' xr in the mix when she's tuned and running at its best!

Cheers, chris

Why do you and others persist in these rumours.
The car will make over 500rwkw on pump fuel without a problem, and I've done a lot of driving with over 500rwkw. With a less aggressive tune and more linear power delivery, but still with over 500rwkw, it feels more like an 8 litre V8.... amazing because it keeps pulling through 7000 revs. Where you get into big trouble is when you put too much boost into it between 4000 to 5000 revs ... it's then totally unstreetable.
It definititely did not run with C16, nor has it run with C16 anywhere.
The 488rwkw that you refer to was with a lot of wheel slip, and every roller dyno generates a different result.
Brian

That EB was amazing; put a different front bar on it and it would an absolute sleeper.

Here a link to my car doing the 517 run; it did it very easy and is very well tuned.
It can probably take another 4 pound of boost yet, but we'll see how it goes. There are are few more imporovements yet to be made.

As Bill said.... it has a walbro in tank pump, plus two Bosch 044 pumps running in parallel, surge tank; 1100cc injectors at higher than standard pressure.
