Default Life on Mars

Just to let you know about a new show on ABC coming soon called Life on Mars. It is set in England in 1973 and the star looks like a Mk3 GXL Cortina. I only saw a brief preview, but saw Cortinas and Granadas. I guess we will get to see loads of other English cars from that era.

Its a brilliant show, I'm hooked.

As for the cars, they're not really super prominent in the show, its more character-based, following how different it is for somebody from 2006 to adjust to living and policing in 1973.

Here's a Wikipedia List of the main cars that appear in the show.

And yes, the Cortina in that show is currently the reason I'm browsing the Cortina section of these forums. Its just so cool and retro, I want one just like it! I saw a thread called "Life On Mars" and just couldn't resist opening it!

This show has been very well received here in the UK, and caused prices of the Mk3 cortina to rise dramatically

Was watching the other night. During the opening credits I turned to my dad and said 'Metallic Gold Ford with a vinyl roof. I like'. He pointed out that I was born 15 years too late for the 70s. And I'll never forgive him either.

as the ebay ad mentions, there are a few modifications to the trim on this car, this caused quite a bit of discussion among cortina owners in the uk
