Default Legal differences between provisional and open licences in qld?

Is it just that p-platers cant have any alcohol and open licences can have .05? Any other legal differences?

It will also state it in the Road User's Handbook from your state's transport Authority as well.

Mate get the book, and your on the net so look up the RTA or whatever site, its full of information that people hardly ever look at.

As for drivers being restricted at different speeds, thats just insane, it would cause more accidents if anything!

Zero blood alcohol and 4 points. Thats the only difference between P's and Opens up here. Id like to know though, when on your P's and you loose points, how long vefore you get them back? Its not in the handbook, and Ive been told, when you go onto your opens and after 12 months, both times by a person at QT.

AFAIK ... after any loss of points ... it's 3 years until you get them back (I think from the time of the payment/processing fo the fine)

It's stupid to say "here's your license son but you have to drive slow and be a hazard for other road users." Numerous times i have rounded corners on 110km/h roads in northern NSW only to hit the hammers as i'm bearing down very quickly on some L or P plater. If the person isn't capable of following the speed limits why give them a license?

Its not that they aren't capable, its that they aren't allowed. That doesn't stop anyone but. Exept the goody goodies :disco:

As of july in Qld the New P plate system comes in.
Also as of July in Qld Power to weight restrections come in.
And yes as previously stated it takes 3 years to get your points back.
An open licence is given 12 points as oposed to a provisonal of 4 points
