Unhappy Excessive fuel Consumption AU 1 Wagon 4.0l

I have an AU1 Futura wagon fitted with duel fuel.
For some reason it has started using excessive petrol. I
can't get better than 16l/100km used to get 10l/100km or better on a long run and 12 to 13l/100km around town. Had it back to Ford and they said nothing is wrong with it.
Had injectors cleaned, new plugs, plug leads, new oxygen sensor and aircleaner, still no good. It starts good when cold but hard to start when its warm and puffs black smoke when it starts.
Any Ideas what might be wrong.

Did it just suddenly get worse or gradually?

Is that consumption figure on gas or petrol? Have you just recently had the gas conversion done?

Sounds like Map sensor under the TB could be stuffed.

Manifold ambient pressure (I think). I'd go with JC's theory, heard that this has been the cause before. Do a search on MAP sensors for more info.

^^ 2/3rds right... manifold absolute pressure, checks the air pressure in the intake manifold and adjusts how much fuel to put in

I'd certainly be looking at the MAP sensor but check the intake manifold gasket as well, they are notorious for working loose
