Default Heater controls stuck

Hey Guys, well we had our 1 cold day a year here in NQLD about a week ago, so I turned the heater on. Problem is now when I turn the heater control back to cold it springs back into the red. Just wondering if someone else has had this issue and if its fixable, otherwise I will hae to order a new set of controls.

Should mention its a series 1 povo pack, I'm just sick of pulling my dash apart, so don't want to touch it unless I know its repairable or have a replacment unit in hand

Anyone? I don't want to drive the 80k round trip to the wreckers to find out its repairable.

take the glove box out and check and make sure where the cable connects to the heater box is working properly, that would be a start
