I was just over at streetcommodores.com.au reading through some posts (as all cars interest me)
and reading through some of the posts, there is some serious Ford bashing... Now not that the occassional joke, argument doesn't bother me, the single mention of Ford sends (quite a few of) these guys into a frenzy - much like a Paranah at the smell of blood... Weather they be usless comments bagging out Ford, or trying soooo hard to justify and stretch the real facts of why a Holden (in their eyes) is better then Ford... it just seems rediculous. I might have a biased view, but are we that bad when it comes to talking about Holden cars on this forum? I was shocked to even read such a response in the "General Automotive" section in regards to a discussion about a Ford, where on member replied: Quote:

I never really wanted to ever own a Ford or a Holden because of all the rivalry crap... oh well.
I appreciate many different types of cars Ford, Holden, Japanese, Euros I don't understand what is wrong with having variety but there seem to be so many narrow minded people on this and other forums, maybe they are just keyboard warriors. |

seen phoon here run into the 12's stock!
when i joke about the red team its ussally aimed at the "stereotype" and not the cars, nothing wrong with the cars some are good, most are sh!!t, even ford has its crap ones (xf lol) but i tried to make mine as good as it can be,

I just finsihed reading that thread. There was like a couple of comments about how bad ford is, but mostly it was all about the good score. I sometimes think that people read way too much into something. Nothing bad in that thread

You see that's where the Holden man and the Ford man are quite different.
I've had 7 or 8 Falcons (and nothing else) in my 25 years of driving and honestly could have gone the other way on more than one occasion. As I see it Commodores and Falcons as very simialr cars on many levels targeting and attracting similar markets. For that reason most of us Ford guys would never bag Holden. We just love cars full stop and don't let it become personal. Us Ford guys are more mature and probably love cars more than we love the brand. I'd always applaud a nice Commodore at the lights next to me or congratulate a Holden owner at a servo on his nice ride...However I can't ever see a Holden owner doing that to a Falcon owner in reverse situations. Seeme they have a point to prove and a nasty chip on the shoulder
