my sons missus whant to learn to drive in my car:
1/ is it legal (gold licence/LSI motor)???me in passenger seat. 2/ don't think it's wise, me pressing a non existent brake peddle! 3/ 700+ ftlbs of torque (now i'm scared) but it's a VXSII berlina with the saftey toy's

You can drive any car you want when you are on your Ls.
Take her out to a country road....its easier than the city and much funner. Just be firm and tell her if she breaks the law shes out.

Just tell her its illegal
 If it helps i think (but don't quote me ) most insurance companies don't require Learner drivers to be listed for some reason. As always, best to check that out yourself than rely on some internet jerk.Goodluck

Yeah well that was my uncles excuse for not letting me drive his BA XR8, "Not legal" he told me "Learners aren't allowed to drive powerful V8s" He said, Bullocks on that, Going by Victorian law anyway.
Learners CAN legally drive anything, from a Daewoo Matiz to a Lamborghini Murcielago. Weird isn't, you can drive the latest Ferrari on your Learners, then the second you actually get your license you can't even drive an ED XR8

Hate to burst your bubble, nah, no I'm not, it is perfectly legal in NSW for a Learner to drive a V8, turbo or any other prohibited vehicle. I've taught both my kids in the SS although they never did a reverse park in it. I left that up to the driving school.
Both kids got well over 100 to 150hours driving the SS (auto), then 3 professional lessons with the little manual bubble car and passed first go. |
