They are just doing a job to support their familys or whatever, just like evryone else.
If you aint happy with taxi drivers to pick you up from home or work
or whatever your issues are with them catch a train amongst thousands of others or hitch a bus ride.

In Ballarat? No way, they're the best Taxi Drivers around.

3-4AM Sunday morning in Ballarat, nothing but Taxi's and Cops on the road, makes for some of the best entertainment ever seen. :

I agree with you BUT I wish they'd have to do at least some sort of training/course before being allowed to be one. Some of these drivers do some of the most unbeliveable things. (See post above, ahh great entertainment).

They have passengers lives in thier hands and alot of them, couldn't care less. Also with alot of them I know sometimes try to perform thier own vehicle maintaince. :

Ride a motorcycle through city traffic on a daily basis and you'll quickly come to realise that taxis are your worst enemy - the u-turns are the biggest problem.

White Van Man is second on the list. Then Mobile Phone Girl.

Anyway, on topic - I wonder if some bunch of drunken bums just pushed it off the jack...

Cheers

Having worked in the taxi industry myself for 7 years (not as a driver) - I have seen both sides of the fence.

The problem is that not many Aussies want to be a cab driver and depots are struggling at times to put drivers into cars; albeit decent ones.

Here's an interesting link:

Real Ford's don't need a jack or even a functioning bonnet release.

I think the taxi driver wants to show the world how much power his taxi has got by snapping all the wheels studs at once trying to rip a burnout! End result wheel disembarked from the axle!
