Default Nice $40 upgrade to interior

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWN:IT&ih=015

Got this a couple days ago

Put it in today

Looks so much better!

A bit fiddly, but if you get a spare 20 mins or so, it is worth it

Pretty sure you can get the inner chrome bit pretty cheap from Ford, but i needed the outer too, cuz mine was all sticky...

Its one of the things I want to do to mine, but I think I'd need the whole surround, the black/grey bit on mine has a couple of small blemishes.

I'm hoping to do the same when I get some cash together, probably mainly door handles & the chrome surround, if I can find a chrome auto-shift button then I'll do that as well. My interior is the black, and the chrome would look awesome with it I reckon.

I need to pull this piece up on mine so I can change the light globe on the gear selector indicator. How did you pull the old one out?

Remove the cntre console. You don't need a how to one this job, it is as straight forward as they come

Very true, but if you haven't done it before, a how to may be of assistance.

Here's one I prepared earlier! LOL! The globe you need to replace is in the brown holder, seen best in picture / step 6. The holder just twists in and out.

Chrome Gear surround
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showpos...5&postcount=27

All the best with it.

GK is there anything you haven't posted a how to on? Once you have done your manual conversion can we expect a how to on changing gears?

Well regardless of whether you paid too much for it like all the experts say, it looks great. Nice pickup.

BUT... if you dont have a local place, then the ebay one is good for convenience.

Also if you have a series 1 it is alot easier to buy the 2 peices. I ordered one of these a few months back, was only going to use the crome piece but (can't remember why) it didn't work out, had to use the outer part aswell

Just as a heads up, if you want the woodgrain piece, the outer surround bit, its $10 cheaper off Ebay.

I have a series 1 also, and the stock housing is not 2 seperate bits, there is no 'inner' and 'outer' it is just 1 bit, so you can't get the chrome inner 'in'

Getting the chrome handbrake button next, then the T-bar button, then upgrade the gear knob + shaft, then the door handles

Stock housing is not two seperate bits, but if you are getting a woodgrain piece as well, you have to get inner and outer, if getting just the chrome bit, its actually just the inner bit, and you have to buy the outer surround as well. You cant get a chrome single piece inner and outer as far as I know.

I've only really done "how tos" on things that are pretty easy, aside from the changing springs, but I had heaps of help from JC and others with that.

Thanks GK. I thought there had to be an easier way to change a light bulb than pulling out the whole centre console...wishful thinking....

Yep, the woodgrain bit is expensive! I sold one second hand a while ago for $90 odd.
