Manual Conversion for AU.

Gday I know there has been a few threads for manual conversions. I started one before but didn't get any response.

I really wanna put one in but I don't wana be taken to the cleaners or end up with a dud. So just a few questions...

1)What price am I looking at?? $2500 abouts??

2)What type of place do I get to do it?? Should I be asking the transmission place?? My mechanic?? The wreckers??

3)What Box?? Do you get a box from a wrecked car or does it come from the factory new?? What's a T5Z??

4)I live in Norther NSW. So if anybody can recommend a workshop around Tamworth, Moree, Grafton, Armidale, Coffs Harbor, Lismore area would be appreciated.

3)What Box?? Do you get a box from a wrecked car or does it come from the factory new?? What's a T5Z?? Can get them new, 2nd hand, a wreck. A T5z is a strengthened T5 ($2200 worth).

1. Money is about right if you get some help from a mechanic mate or such. I'll get flamed for saying so, but all the wreckers I called wanted $1,200-1,300 for the box alone and about $1,200 for the install. It used to be a $1,500 or so job all up, but prices appear to have gone through the roof this year.

2. Your trusted mechanic, who should have done one before.

3. T5 for an I6, T5z were for a V8 if IIRC. I'll be quickly corrected if I'm wrong about that though.

4. Can't help you there sorry. I reckon others will be able to do so though.
