Hi guys i live in brisbane and have a a.u fairmont ghia series 1 i believe it has a V.C.T motor and has done 110,ooo km what oil do you recomend for it ,and also who do you recomend to do a service on it i dont want to use my local ford agent as he charges $ 250 for a straight service and all i see is i get an oil change and filter ,a bit rich i feel thanks for your help in advance also i live on the northside of brissy ....matt

Welcome to the forums!! Hope your enjoying the Ghia I know I love mine!
Oil really is a matter of personal choice but I use Castrol Formula R 5w 30. But others may suggest Penrite etc, its really up to you. If you want tosave money do the oil change yourself. With basic tools its not a mission! :

welcome to the forum. ford service are like the light brigade (they know how to charge) there are plenty of good mechanics out there who will do it for a reasonable cost if you don't want to DIY

Boon they are a great car i have had it for 2 yrs and it hasnt been a prob i bought it with 64,000 km on it , it was from a private school in toowoomba and maintaned by the local ford dealer it was in top condition ,i now use it for towing a boat. I paid 10k 2yr ago its now out of extended warranty so i want to do the work myself ijust needed some direction with oil to use here in brissy as its a little hotter inviroment and towing the boat every week , thanks for the help guys ...matt
