Default Bonnet scoop and vents on AU?

What do guys think? Will the wagon become copper bait with a smal bonnet scoop on it? I know alot of people have shakers but my personal preference is for something a bit different while reducing underhood temps..
Any comments? Anyone got a scoop or vents on the street? Should I get el vents?

I reckon the el vents would look good on the wagon. As far as scoops go, not a fan except for shakers

At idle in traffic my underhood temperatures are hitting 70 degrees celcius. Scoops look a bit dodgey but hopefully I will see something nice. Is anyone running scoops or vents on an au?

Me too.

I didn't much like the look of the sequencial scoops. Each to their own though, they may be highly effective though, and many would prefer function over form.

It's not an AU, but I want to get a 03 Mustang GT scoop for my Explorer - if you find one in your travels Stave, please let me know. Cheapest I can find on the net so far is around $450 from the States.

i dont see why you would get in trouble from the police if it was LOWER than 100mm off the bonnet(or may be 50mm i cant rememeber)
and the leading edge must have a radius of 5mm (aka rounded)

and you cant cut under bonnet bracing (altho if you replaced it with a variation AROUND the scoop hole youd be fine i think)

i rekon a subaru liberty scoop would go well (same style as territory turbo)

also i think vents need to have a wierd panel underneath to keep oil from spraying onto the windscreen in the event of engine failure ...
(goto your local subaru and mitsubishi dealers and look under the bonnets of them)

How about some thing like this. It really sets the tone for your wagon :

I found a repro 1965 mustang scoop for around $100. Might look Ok on the AU round shape - it's sort of tear drop shaped - wide at the front, tapering to the rear. Dimensions are 71cm x 35cm x 5cm

I guess it would something like this on a car:

Here is what you wanted Stav. It is also a low series bonnet. Fibreglass, so its lighter than steel and for sale on ebay.

the turbo scoop looks like a shaker that wont shake,I like it. Wrx scoops, shakers, hornets,x series vents etc are all air intakes..not vents, wouldn't a "vent" need to be facing the back of the car or reasonably flat, otherwise you would just be pushing air into the engine. I know that stopped at lights some hot air would get out, but whilst moving you would be pushing air in. I was told the scoops like on Cobra's work on back pressure to draw air in so dont really know.IMO you would need something like an El GT bonnet scoop to release the heat, something low and flat that wont suck much in, but when still will let alot out.

I want vents to reduce under bonnet heat and the scoop to build a sealed cold air intake.

I would buy that bonnet in a heart beat if it was steel!! Maybe the xa vents into the au bonnet will look just as good.

I am tempted just to put spacers where my bonnet hinges are just to raise the back section of the bonnet ... and reduce some of the heat when stationary ... and on the move as well.

I wouldn't mind getting subtle vents though ... it does get hot underbonnet when idling.

I got vents on mine and happy with how they look.

First shot is vents stock height and wheels.

Second lowered and 19"s looks much better IMO

subtle vents...yeah i might be a fan of them, i don't really dig the tuner look you see everywhere - scoops, wings & stuff.
Wouldn't like a bug catcher never really liked them, but a shaker would be awesome & a bulge would be cooler than the very coolest thing i can think of.

The vents on the EL were a good look... not sure if they would translate to the AU's styling, but they might look good. Maybe i'll play with photoshop & see, my skills aren't at expert level though.

Anybody with a more serious level of chopping skills want to put EL style vents on this pic of my baby...i would appreciate the help

there is a bit o glare here...i can take a better pic if needed
