A rego number would probably help. Some thieves are actually stupid enough to leave plates on.

That’s funny. Isn’t this what you posted before changing it?

my brother in laws burgandy maroon au fairlane got stolen on thursday night. by the time they got home to find it gone, the cops told him it had been found. Out of town smashed in to 15 trees, and a concrete marker before being torched. he is absolutely shattered.

Hard luck.

However, why would the car have spacers when AU's and BA's have the same offset ??

that's bizarre, those wheels are available in pretty much any offset imaginable from what i've seen. Maybe your mate bought them, as you suggested, from another offset car. Good luck with finding the car anyway.

Same here, I thought these electronically coded keys and all that jazz made it pretty hard these days ?!

Obviously they can still be loaded onto a truck and carted off but someone else said that one was stolen and smashed into trees etc, surely this isn't possible without the key, is it ?

I had an EL before the BA and I'm sure it had the electronically coded security key as the dealer I got it from said if I tried to start it with the wrong key 4 times (or something like that, this was over 10 years ago!), it would lock down and I'd have to put a code in through the stereo.

When you say transponder, what do you mean exactly? What has my BA got that the EL didn't have? The key looks more or less identical to me...

Just wondering...

The AU Series 2 onwards keys are chunkier at the top. There is a chip inside that transmits a unique code to the ignition barrel when you attempt to start the car. E series and AU I have smart lock, AU II onwards it's called smart shield.

i saw someone breaking into a supra down in footscray, so i drove slowly past and droped revs and stopped the car next to them n beeped the horn n held it for a few secs, strange thing was they had a tow truck to get the car onto, looked real suss. boy did they leave in a hurry!

Good on you Dan, my mate has recently had his VL knocked off, i was pretty ****ed off. Cops called off the chase due to excessive speed, never seen the car since.

Hope your mate gets his nice ride back. Such a shame.

Damn SCUM!

the AUs computer locks down if you try 4 times correct..
the keys also lock but dont unlock all AU's
unsure of BAs .. probably the same if the key is the same?

Bundy has had the lock down happen a few times while messing with his ECU (has a chiptorque chip in it i believe)

car still hasnt been found, the wheels are originally commodore wheels that had been redrilled as i was told a different pcd when i bought them, thats why its got spacers, its a series 1 so it would have been easy to knock off,im guessing its long gone now, same with my golf clubs, ipod and camera,if anyone comes by a set of ARNOLD PALMER golf clubs for sale with a green and black arnold palmer bag could u let us know, thre not a very common set so they should stand out aswell,im heading to the cash converters and stuff in the next week to have a look aswell.

Hey mate, Im really sorry to hear that your car got knocked off,
-Did you car have an alarm system?
-Where was it parked when it was stolen?
-Did chaddy have any security cameras? not nessarilly where your car was parked but an exit to the car park?
-Put heaps of posters up, pic of your car details, and put a reward down (its better than nothing)

I think the scum that stole ur car will deff try to sell the golf clubs, cause people that low won't play golf, look out for the Arnold Palmer's, (ebay, cash converters, forums, ) that will be your key to getting them if you do...

good luck and i hope you find it
- Ash

nah no alarm was installed just the factory stuff which i now know is rubbish,it was parked in the lower section right near the Kmart entrance probly only 2 minute walk from the door in sight of everyone, the securtiy at chaddy said they have never had a car stolen in 12 months, then i found out they just wouldnt know cause they dont have working camera's underground where i had parked, the cops said it happens all the time there, the security suggested i was doing an insurance job on it and kept on suggesting it,absolute moron that guy was!
