Assume every car is an unmarked car... that way you'll never get caught doing anything wrong.

Yea pretty much, if you can name a common car assume that somewhere there is a police officer sitting behind the wheel, the beauty is you wont know till its too late.

The amount of times that the 'van is tied' up is far too common. If you're car has been stolen, they don't really care about it. Ever wonder why so many people call 000 to report a stabbing, when it's really a verbal argument? Some people get desperate for a response, any response.

Nah they rotate between each oft he manufacturers. Warwick has had 1 Monaro, a VZ SS, 2 Typhoons and now the TRD.. The boys had the TRD apparently (my uncle knows one of them well) and they have asked for a new Typhoon...

They would get a fair bit knocked off the RRP price, fleet discount and all...
Still I know its over kill, but they are trying to boost numbers and work satisfaction. Good on them, most of them do a good job. I barely speed and if I do, I'd rather be pulled over by an awesome car

Once depreciation is taken into consideration these cars are sold at auction with no losses incurred... The reason they buy FPV is because of RESALE, and the fact that the cars are better equiped to do the job, e.g. bigger wheels, better brakes with better handling.. These guys risk their lives every minute on the job, so why not give them the BEST tools... |

Hume Highway Patrol has purchased 4 f6 Typhoons, chipped and also worked, I know because I met them and spoke with them at orange grove road mega centre on saturday nights, all unmarked and digital cameras on board, 2 blue, orange and grey and they have been test driven and coached at bathurst and oran park, the officers had said there the best thing they have ever driven and said the xr8's dont compare, the orange has blow off valve, so if you see him at the lights revving dont race him.
