I was wondering what the comparison of registered Ford and Holden cars were on the road and compiled this from ABS:

Registered vehicles:

Be interesting to know what % are Commodore and Falcon, the rural/urban distribution and age groups.

My own bias is that Falcon is not as attractive to under 25s as Commodore, that a high majority of rural brand is Falcon and a higher proportion of Holdens are Commodores.

Well we already know that Commodore and Falcon are the highest selling models for both manufacturers so its safe to assume they would make up a large part of those vehicles.

Quite distressing to see the number of Fords fall each year.

I had a squiz, but they appear to be sales figures, while I was interested in current registrations.

irlewy86 the attrition rate for Ford is about 5% while for Holden it's about -5%, so yes it's a bit disconcerting for Ford and the local industry, although Toyota do build locally too.

What it does indicate though is there are a lot of potentially repeat buyers for both camps and maybe they should start marketing to them.
