Ild be checking that you havnt left off a wire that connects to one of the battery terminals. Leaving off a wire here, can cause the sort of problems you are experiencing.

But being a bucket of crap - youll want to make sure that there is a good earth between the bucket and the handle. However im not sure what models came out with the plastic handle. I think 98 onwards came with the metallic handle as an option.

Sorry chubzz80, I was wrong with the model you were referring to.

Au forte had plastic handle as standard.

Au forte series 2 and 3 had rubber handle ( with option of any colour ).

Fairmont came standard with leather handle for better grip and support, with the later giha's having a stronger rim for heavier loads.

As usual Fairlane came out with all the luxury features - including dual handles, reinforced plastic supports, galvanised wheels and came with metallic paint.

XR6 - and 8 had same fairmont specs but came standard with black castor's and stronger supports to handle the heavier day to day crap loads.

Hope this has helped.

Maybe your bucket has run out of crap. Take a crap in the bucket and see if this rectifies the problem.

this bit could be caused by the air bag being faulty, the same thing was happening to mine replaced the airbag and all fixed now.

you can sometimes pick them up off ebay or even the wreckers get an auto electrician to install the new one.

Hey guys the bloke is asking for some help, just like all of you have at some point maybe he shouldn't have said that the Au is a bucket but hey he may have had enough and if you have a look at how many posts he has it looks to me like a newbie so give him a break.

it really Pi#@es me off when people like you sling off but don't give any help when needed. next time you guys ask a stupid question or don't phrase it right just think what you done here and hope to hell that no one bags you for it.

Brakes... I'm not sure about... but have you done any repairs to it lately?

Horn... maybe something to do with an alarm? (if you have one fitted)... otherwise i'm thinking its something to do with central locking and/or BEM (body electronics module)... inwhich Ford normally are the ones to fix it (common issue).

Sorry I couldnt help more, but i hope something i've sugested will trigger an answer from someone else in the know.

lighten up dude , he's from tasmania :

just kidding.

at least the thread is constantly being bumped :

chubbz80 - it may be a body control module issue , you might have to get an auto elec or a ford dealer to check it out for you.

is it a manual or auto? as said above, seems like a bem issue if the horn keeps going off, also, the battery isn't rooted is it? it may have enough power to turn things on, but not enough to crank it...?

yeah battery brand new came outof my xr8 to try but still no go power getting to ignition and to the coil packs but from there nothin i thought it may have somethin to do wit the safety switch with the auto wen it in gear it wont start but bypassed that and still no action ,the central locking is very slow to unlock but dont know if that has anything to do wit it lucky its only a second car that have brought it just to run around in

check the earth points, maybe even run a new wire from the negative terminal to the block, a big fat one, and a couple of smaller ones to the body of the car, from the battery and the motor. then give that a try.

Try cleaning your battery terminals or putting on some new gold ones see if that fixes ur problem sometimes the au terminals get so they just stop working properly

Could it be a dud clockspring under the airbag. They can cause both problems initially mentioned I.E. Horn blowing and brake light staying on!
Just a thought.
