Default STOLEN!! XR6 ute and Fairmont Ghia......

My son in law gets woken at 4.30am yesterday by the sound of his XR6 ute being wheelspun out of his driveway in Albion Park (south of Woolongong)......
My daughter's pride and joy, A black Fairmont Ghia, has already gone....
Thieving bastards have broken in through the garage door, rumaged through the lower level of the house and found thier car keys, then taken wallets, mobiles, some of my special needs grandson's remote control toys and my soninlaws golf clubs amongst other personal stuff.....

Missing are.......03' XR6 Ute in Silver Rego No ZLE-553
04' Fairmont Ghia in Black with ACT Rego YDJ-53G.......

Whilst I dont expect members to form a posse and go out looking for these things.....I figured that by at least making everyone aware of this theft, someone might see something, somewhere, and help bring these cretins to justice......
Thanks guys....any info appreciated.....

Ok, an update......
After talking with the Police this morning, they told my soninlaw that 8 cars were targeted within a 5k radius of his home.
They are sure that this an organised deal as , apart from my daughters Ghia, "all' those targeted were "XR6 and XR8 " BA-BF Fords and the Police said that if they find one, then they are confident that they will find all of them.
Out of 8 targeted cars, they got away with 5 of them on Monday night......3 other attempts were foiled by either dogs or being otherwise disturbed...on one occasion they were chased by an owner and fled to another waiting XR sedan (probably already stolen) and got away.
The Police feel that they are casing the residential areas and looking for easy targets, especially double storey homes......
So the message to all our friends in the southern Woolongong to Albion Park area is......secure your cars guys, at least until they bust these dropkicks.....

Hey Reg, Fancy meeting you here.

I was just about to start a new thread and saw what you already started one. Good stuff mate the more poeple know the better.

I'm lucky that neither of my cars were targeted that morning so from now on i'm locking my XR and never leaving the keys it. It's probably a good thing that the Cobra doesn't see out side often so I hoping that I'm safe.

I'll be keeping a good look out for ya mate.

Shoot them. most people put quite a bit of love and attention into their rides. It mist be horrible to just have someone take it away. I'd be devastated if my car was nicked. Even with an insurance payout I would be very dirty.

Also very sad to hear about your grandsons RC toys. Will they be replaced with insurance. if not It might be nice for FF to put a couple of dollars together to get something. I'll contribute.

Ill keep an eye out, I travel through there alot.
Hope the insurance fixes it all up quick smart!

On another note, We contemplated moving too that area as well. My Insurance was going to go up around $300-$500 for my xr6. We moved further south and it dropped $400 off Sydney costs!

Err...no.....due to whatever reason : , when the house contents insurance expired two weeks ago my soninlaw decided to let it go till the end of the financial year to renew it. After all, what can happen in the space of four weeks right?
Well, now that were seeing what can happen, its a lesson, abiet an expensive one, but a lesson all the same......
Thanks for the offer, its very kind of you, but we'll get by, its not the end of the world.
We can at least be thankful that it wasn't the car insurance that he chose to put off eh' :yeees:

It's scum like this that should have been crippled from birth!!
I think thats why I sleep with my keys on my bedside table along with my mobile and wallet. Im a light sleeper and would probably hear my bedside table being opened.
And theft is also the reason why, even though i have a BA and the security is alright im still getting a top of the line security alarm fitted in the next few days/weeks. And have full comp. just don't wanna pay excess, it's too much.hehehe!

That why you should hide the car keys, not leave them lying around! Lesson learnt.

Thats a bit harsh. You should be able to leave your car keys anywhere you like in your own house.
It's the low life scum that should stay out of other people's property.

If they had nuts, they would go out, earn money and buy a car.

Instead, they are pathetic little weasels who have been rejected by the weasel-society.

Just pathetic beings...if they can even be called that.

That is harsh. People do not expect others to break into their home.
Even if they were hidden, there's still a chance they would be found.

There is NO WAY you can justify theft, as well as breaking and entering, which is what you are doing in a way.

rough luck mate, hope they catch the bastards! Another thing that wont let you sleep well, is that now they have the keys, does this mean they can get into the house easier?
Time to change locks?

cheers
