I have owned my AU for 8 years and the drivers seat has gone flat. I have pulled it apart and the problem is the plastic foam insert. They are easily reinserted but I do not know where to purchase them. Can you help me please Cheers Sooty.

If you're talking about the foam itself where the door side bolster has collapsed then the quickest and easiest fix is to just swap the foam from the passenger seat base( hey, you don't have to sit on the passenger side so WTF eh, lol). Don't just swap the metal bases though because the drivers side one is reinforced (a bit _ ) and the passenger base WILL break on the drivers side. While the drivers base is out you might consider getting it further reinforced cos they're pretty marginal at best from factory. See an upholsterer as suggested, he'll know what to do.

I just rang Ford, they've only got XR ones left, which suits me fine, what doesn't suit me fine is that they're $370 each, and that's trade price! Looks like I'll put up with my mildly sagging driver's side bolster. Where did you guys get them for $50?

I repaired mine by removing the seat foam and installing high density crumbed foam (repol) inside the side bolsters, I then covered the whole seat top with 10mm foam overlay. I think I used 3M 74 contact adhesive to glue it together. This was a few years ago and the seat is still good. The stiffer side bolster cores offer more support as a bonus. In a previous life I was an upholsterer!
cheers Bill.
