G'day guys,
I have had a look around for a couple of engine mounts for my 75 TD Cortina with no luck. I was wondering if anybody else has sourced some from somewhere?? Had a look on rare spares website and they don't even have them..... Engine is a 4.1 X-flow. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Cortina Fever. |

Just the rubber for it.
I have found polyeurethane replacements, but they arn't suitable due to the heat coming from the extractors.. I need the original rubbers... Cheers Cortina Fever.. |

Can't you just shield them? a bit of sheet steel sandwiched between the mount rubber and the engine bracket and bent to suit should fix your problem permanently.
Urethane mounts may melt but rubber ones will turn to powder from the heat. |

I suppose you could shield them but it is more stuffing around.
My rubber mounts has cracked, it seems the heat has not affected it. Cheers, Cortina fever |

Mine turned to something resembling coal on my old XE after I fitted extractors to it.
I had to make a shield to protect the starter motor and another to protect the RH inner tie rod end as it melted and became very loose. I never noticed the engine mount until after the car got written off. |
