Default Falcon Advertising Ideas ? (Free for FORD to use)

It seems as if there has been none since the 2weeks after the 5 Star rating.

And yet another 'anti Ford' Ford article in the Sunday Telegraph (Syd) this weekend.

Perhaps we can seed Ford with some serious ideas here.
This is a public Forum, and we stake no claim for copyright on these.

Please Ford .... Take this input !!

Here is a starter

Blue Screen with only this text "What maters to you ?
Man with lab coat, and Aurion after head on, comments on the severity of the injuries (Including some spefics) to Driver and occupant.
Man with lab coat, and commy after head on, comments on the severity of the injuries (Including some spefics) to Driver and occupant.
Man with lab coat, and Falcon after head on, comments on the severity of the injuries to (Including some spefics) Driver and occupant.
Blue Screen with only this text "What maters to you ?
- ford logo fades in - as does ANCAP Logo
Switch to Ford Au current catch phrase, and catchy jingle

and another

Blue Screen with only this text "What maters to you ?
Man with lab coat, and Aurion with family of four, comments on real world economy with family - gives figures for consumption and acceleration when the passenger and luggage load is 200kg (or other suitable figure)
Man with lab coat, and commy with family of four, comments on real world economy with family - gives figures for consumption and acceleration when the passenger and luggage load is 200kg (or other suitable figure)
Man with lab coat, and Falcon with family of four, comments on real world economy with family - gives figures for consumption and acceleration when the passenger and luggage load is 200kg (or other suitable figure)
.
Blue Screen with only this text "What maters to you ?
- ford logo fades in
Switch to Ford Au current catch phrase, and catchy jingle

And Maybe:

Blue Screen with only this text "What maters to you ?
Man with lab coat, and Aurion V6 Comment on built in Australia for 2 years to a foreign design, with foreign sourced engine. also mention specific percentage of Australian Content (backing music - Japan National Anthem)
Man with lab coat, and commy V6 Comment on built in Australia for 22 years (?) to an Australian design, with foreign sourced engine. also mention specific percentage of Australian Content (backing music - Korean National Anthem)
Man with lab coat, and Falcon I6 Comment on built in Australia for 50 years (?) to an Australian design, with an Australian engine. also mention specific percentage of Australian Content (backing music - Any Immediately recognisable, Australian Tune - say less than 20 years old)
Blue Screen with only this text "What maters to you ?
- ford logo fades in
Switch to Ford Au current catch phrase, and catchy jingle

Of Course Light 'Soft Roaders' should be included an alternate series of Ads.

and to answer any questions - Yes, I was having trouble sleeping

Remember the "witches hats" ad that was used to advertise the XC Falcon in the late '70's?? This involved all the Ford drivers at the time standing in a line to form a line of human witches hats. You had Moffat, Bond, Johnson and a few other lesser known drivers. Fred Gibson got into a bog stock Falcon 500 and drove a slalom course past all the other drivers to demonstrate the stability of the Falcon's handling. Great ad and one I'll always remember.

How about doing a 2008 version of this. Line up Frosty, Richo, Lowndes, Whincup, Junior and Davo. Maybe one of the old boys can do the driving. Dick perhaps? Use a volume seller car such as an XR6 or G6 for relevance to the masses and you have a winner.

Young dude complete with '70's mullet is cruising down the road driving an X series GT Sedan or Coupe. The scene is predominatly a side on view. He's looking really happy with life. the car morphs into a wagon and fills up with kids, then morphs again into other cars such as other family trucksters, small cars and other types we are forced to drive due to circumstance. Throughout this morphing the kids get bigger and the driver ages. These morphing stages are fairly rapid until you get to the final image, same dude 30 years older, driving an FG GT with the same happy expression.

The slogan is "GT, the feeling never leaves you" or "GT, you know you want one" or something along those lines.

It's good to create ads directed at the engineering and technical aspects of the Falcon but it'll also pay to do ads that have a strong motorsport link and also tap into the headonistic impulse that lays deep inside us all. Ads that make you want to lash out on a GT.

Motorsport linked ads are all good and well for the 5% of people who have an interest in these vehicles, but what about the other 95% who have no interest in buying a hot V8 or performance orientated vehicle?
Its the "95%" like the average mums and to a lesser degree dads that Ford need to attract.. not the "5%"....

The other comment id make is "negative" advertising techniques such as bagging your opposition have been proven to turn people away from your product...

I think they need to do an ad for the Falcon just like the new one for the Focus.

If you haven't seen it - it goes through all of the shortcomings of the Focus' competitors i.e Lack of power for the Corolla, Less airbags in the Lancer and the Mazda3 being thirstier than the Focus before saying "Choose Wisely" at the end

Something like this in the big car context would be far better than walking fingers.

i rekon throw political correctness out of the window, and shoot a GT doing some circle work, like the holden storm ute commercial... would be a killer during the V8 series

The Focus "FACTS" ad proves that Ford AUS marketing can get it oh so right. Now to try to transfer that same ad to the Falcon while making it different but the same.

Yep, that one. That ad is on http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au..._falcon_16.htm It looks like it was done at You Yangs and it was to demonstrate it's suspension is matched to radial tyres.

Yeah that is a good idea to make a 2008 version. Use an XR8 or a G6E and do a slalom course with the best current V8 Supercar drivers. On the original ad they claimed the average speed was 92-38km/h, but with the new one it would be a lot faster!

Yes, I think that's exactly how they should of marketed the FG Falcon in the first place.

OR

1000 Bikini models in a town, cars drives through and they all start chasing it.... then the voice over could say "YOU WISH!" , then read out the benefits of the falcon, better fuel economy, sports suspension, etc,etc then with australia's first 5 star ancap rating (have cars crashed around the place and focus on the badly crumpled bodies) "You wont need to pick up!" (as in your the only one left) - Ford Falcon - better than riding an animal and have a lion walk down the street with someone on its back

yeah that'll be one of the worst ads but something to remember LOL

i hold all interlectual copyright on this idea, if ford use it they agree to giving me a new falcon or 3 weeks use of a 08 FPV FG GT-E + paid fuel and insurance

The long stroke V8 is dead, advertise 6 turbos as the future of aussie mucle outlining performance, insurance, fuel economy etc

They could use It is cheaper than a v8, fatser than a v8, just as much fun as a v8 (maybe not), better resale than a v8 etc.

to make it even better they could have "60BETA" "WENTBETA" "N0B3TA" on the numberplates to have a rip at a certain brand

just thinking they could even make a "wake the neighbours campaign" to promote the might V8

starts with a guys trying to get out of bed at 6am, alarm clock says recession is comng, doom and gloom, etc , does whatever, gets in his V8 in his shed which is covered in a tarp and dust and cobwebs all over, etc,etc then back to shot with him in the car, quiet a smooth and all the neighbours run out waving their fists and he just looks in shock

voice over - Recession isnt here yet, get in your falcon and "WAKE THE NEIGHBOURS"

enjoy your weekend, we'll take care of the rest, then they can read out 5 star ancap, greenest falcon, etc and Fords new (will be) lowest ever interest rate and something else

(to bring back consumer confidence and that you dont have to buy a smartcar you'll die in if you hit dog to be happy.... because ford will save you.... or whatever)

2nd part.. old mates driving through a field of daisys.... that "happy" walking fingers music is playing, he has the biggest grin on his face ... then while the voice over reads the features and says the greenest falcon ever its pans around to see him ripping up the earth, oblivious to whats happening... silence

then voice over - uhh...... MEANEST falcon ever! - WAKE THE NEIGHBOURS and a shot of his neighbours running after him covered in dirt and daisys

then they could have that GET ACTIVE government incentive scheme on the ad and ford as a sponsor so it wont seem so bad

yes ford i want that free falcon

Agree with 4V, need to focus purely on the other 95% of the population, because that is were the sales lie.

If Ford can make their product (not just their XR range but the basic packages)appeal to those 95%; moreso than their competitors, then sales will broaden across both Ford and FPV within time.

One of the main selling points they need to push though, is there 5 star ANCAP rating. Which is tough seeing as there is a decline in the market

Point taken. The motorsport linked ads would be designed to be complementary to all other themes used to advertise the product for maximum reach.

Also agree on not bagging other manufacturers.

If it's the ad I think you're referring to, Ford are targetting opinions in two catagories:
1) other small cars and;
2)the icon that would take some incredible effort to dislodge = the Rolla. This is risky in that consumers may be amused, but doggedly ignore the message.

i could see that being a great advert, could do it from different perspectives also say the kids growing up in a falcon and then driving "growing up witha falcon never leaves you" or something simular.

play at the passion of the drivers/owners and maybe win back some of the lost souls from the past.

Personally I think Ford have to work on their reputation somehow.
It's easier to lose a reputation than it is to get a good one and I think Ford have lost theirs and now have to work damn hard to get it back.
I'm sure once they have succeeded in getting it back, sales will come flooding back.

IMO

Problem is it has already been done. The Foxtel IQ/HD add is exactly that.

My only advice is to pull all the sponsorship of events, teams etc and give that allocation of the budget to a driven advertising campaign. The adds don't have to be the best but saturate the market with Ford adds would boost sales imho. The odd add here and there isn't cutting it.

You said we had to be better. Well at last we have listened.

Today we are announcing our entire dealer network is gone. Next week the new Ford Premium dealer network will begin taking shape. New people, new ideals and new focus on customer service.

Good things are happening at Ford Australia....

Don't exactly know what this means but I sure think that before they try and convert non Ford owners over to the Ford brand they could do a hell of a lot better at looking after the customers they already have.

I can only dream of getting after sales service and assistance that matches the time and effort they put into selling you the car.

They are not unique in the way they deal with after sales service, my work ute is a Mazda and the Mazda dealers are just as bad and I would say other brands also have their inconsistancies. Maybe this is where they could make a big difference, become leaders in after sales service that is consistant and reliable where ever you take your car.

You know that you can go to Macca's anywhere in Australia to get a big mac value meal it will be the same every time. I can't go from one Ford dealer to another in my own town and get the same service.

Love my Fords but hate the though of returning for service(of any kind).

Do a 'win a free car' on a popular item that people buy (like what Holden is doing with the VE Ute and Ice break). They can advertise the car all they want, but they need to get the car visually out there where all people will see it (supermarkets, servo's, etc) at least that way the car can sit in there brain subconsciously.
