Good news on the horizon for Fiesta fans. I get regular emails from Ford Racing, and at the bottom of the latest one was this small comment.
"Keep your browser set to fordracing.com and watch here in Fast News in the coming months as we unveil our plans to make Fiesta a full-fledged member of the Ford Performance Group of vehicles." In other words, the arrival of the Fiesta in the US could see some juicy go faster bits developed for the Fiesta :

P.S. to this news is that I've read that a S2000 Fiesta is entered for the 1st Round of the Aust. Rally Championship in Tasmania this month. This is a Tarmac rally too! It seems as though the guy who's entered it may have got his hands on one of the Fiesta's used last year? Although I can't confirm this.

Eddie, I hope that S2000 car isn't one of these bad boys from Britek! $300K for two of these is a bit steep considering they are also offloading two of their V8 Supercars for the same sort of money!!

Spazz, Logic sort of tells me it is one of those aforementioned cars but I can't confirm this. I'll check out some of my fav websites to find out. Oh, I haven't even previously heard of the guy who'se entered either.

Guys - the car entered is not one of the S2000 fiestas. The car enetered is a 2WD version used around the world in the something like the Junior challenge. Brendon Reeves used one a couple of times in New Zealand and then used one in the Fiesta Chaalenge held at Msport in the UK
Sorry to dissapoint - the S2000 versions really sounded great thru the forrest |

Thanks for your info Puzzlescort and you seem well informed. Any more info on the car? You mention it's a 2WD so it's FWD or RWD?? If it's entered for more than one round of the ARC it'll be interesting to follow it's progress.

I've found info on the Rally of Tasmania and progress of the Fiesta. It's not good news I am afraid. The car's retired and apparently has been "re-modelled" after a major rollover. No news on the Driver/Navigator but I assume they're o.k.
This news is on the ARC Official Website.

With what's left of the car? And I see also that the tv coverage wasn't shown in it's original timeslot and is in the program guide for this Saturday. Maybe they'll cover the crash in the coverage.

They did cover the crash albeit briefly. The guy did a manouvre commonly known as "A Photn".
