my old mans au3 ghia has this strange thing going on with the sub woofer. it seems to randomly pops. was riding in the back last night and thought it was a suspension knock, but listening closer, it was the sub. the stereo was off the whole time, but it still did it. anyone know what could be causing it and where to start looking for the problem. sounds like a loose connection or something, but it seems strange that it does it with the stereo off, when the amp should be off too.

This thread may be better placed in the sound sub-section of the Workshop for some techno geeks but you never know it could be AU specific

Yes, mine has done this randomly for 4 years - usually whilst turning on the ignition. After the sub 'pops' it does not work, but the next day it will be fine again.
Strange, random, but not that annoying cos the 6-stacker is kaput so can only listen to the radio. (and no, I don't own any cassettes)
